Senior Environmental Consultants (Swindon and North of England)

As a result of continued business growth, we are looking for experienced Senior Environmental Consultants to join our Environmental Claims Division based in both Swindon and the North of England.  These roles can be home based or located at our Reading or Doncaster offices.

The successful applicants should ideally have a minimum five years’ relevant experience working in a contaminated land and/or Environmental Claims Management consultancy (or similar field) with active involvement in day-to-day project management and delivery of contaminated land/spill response projects. Relevant experience required should include project management, site investigation, risk assessment, remediation design and implementation and technical report writing and reviewing.

Capabilities and Qualifications:

  • MSc level (or equivalent) in a Geo-environmental related discipline such as geology, engineering geology, environmental science or physical geography.
  • Extensive Phase I and Phase II investigation experience.
  • Experience completing factual and interpretative Preliminary Risk Assessments (desk based and intrusive assessment) and Detailed Quantitative Risk Assessments (DQRA).
  • Sound understanding of current and emerging environmental legislation.
  • Responsible for the timely delivery of projects ensuring agreed budgets and delivery deadlines are met.
  • Ability to communicate on appropriate technical and commercial levels to a diverse range of clients.
  • Ability to work with autonomy, as well as managing and monitoring junior staff and the needs of the wider team.
  • Ability to write technically sound and commercially focused proposals and reports.
  • Excellent communication skills including oral, written and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work in a safe manner and observe the company’s health, safety and environment rules and procedures as well as any site rules and procedures.
  • Highly motivated and adaptable with solution orientated approach.

Remediation Team Leader (Swindon, Belfast and Newmarket)

Due to our continued expansion, we are pleased to be looking to recruit Remediation Team Leaders for our remediation projects in Swindon, Belfast and Newmarket.

The role would suit individuals with general building expertise.

Works include:

  • Underpinning, all groundworks, internal works, brickwork, carpentry etc.
  • Following structural engineers drawings/plans
  • Driving machinery and undertaking hand-dig excavation works
  • Carrying out works in line with health and safety regulations
  • Managing a site operative and ensuring their safety on site.

Additional training will be given to the right candidate.

Minimum requirement of five years’ experience in construction projects plus a valid UK driving licence is essential.

The ideal candidate will have a good general building knowledge, a willingness to learn new skills, have good organisation and problem-solving skills, and an understanding of project budgets and timelines.

Company van and tools provided.

The role will involve staying away and responding to emergency spill works out of normal working hours for which overtime is paid.

Job type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £25,000 – £30,000 per year.


Contracts Manager (Newmarket)

As a result of continued business growth, we are looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to join our team in the Newmarket area.

The successful applicant should ideally have a minimum 10 years’ relevant experience working in a similar role within a remediation/construction environment, and with active involvement in managing multiple construction projects concurrently from inception through to completion.

Relevant experience required:

  • Costing scopes of work, reading and understanding structural engineers plans
  • Effective management of all resources associated with the projects, delivering them within budget
  • Managing and monitoring in-house staff and sub-contractor performance
  • Working closely with and acting as the first point of contact for clients, site managers and sub-contractors
  • Ensuring all projects are fully compliant with Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental legislation
  • Liaising and developing relationships with customers and their representatives

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Remediation Operative (Swindon)

The role would suit individuals with general building expertise.

Works include underpinning, all groundworks, internal works, brickwork, carpentry etc.
Digger and dumper experience would be ideal.
Additional training will be provided to the right candidate.

Experience in construction projects required plus a valid UK driving licence.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £20,000 – £23,000 per year.
